Welcome! My name is Chien, Chia Sheng. I graduated from Department of Electrical Engineering(EE) of National Formosa University in Taiwan. Currently, I am a graduate student in Instructional Technology program (IT), which is under Department of Education at California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB).
Before I came to United State, I had worked as an engineer for 3 years. The work of my job was to design electronic system of building security, which is called Smart Home in this field. Certainly, different kinds of technologies would be known in my job. I also realized that humans are living in a digital world because everything around us is technologies; people use it for communication, purchasing, or working, etc. Furthermore, technology involves in education. Instructors teach and students learn via digital devices even though they do not actually meet in classroom, that's the feature of instructional technology, which is making an efficient education by technology.
However, technology is not whole part of Instructional Technology Program in CSUSB. There are four components, which are foundation, design, research, and technology sections in the program. In order to introduce and understand more about Instructional Technology, I am going to explain details through this site. After you obtain the cognition from here, you will be able to describe what Instructional Technology is; also, you will gain the abilities of designing and conducting researches by technologies in order to solve issues which are happened around your lives. The purpose that I chose instructional technology for my master degree is to integrate it with my background. In engineering field, training an engineer is a challenging task for a company since it must make a balance between providing efficient job training and cost. Thus, I am pursuing an engineer trainer position in a company, and utilize my professional knowledge of EE and IT to train engineers effectively so as to help the company to obtain more profit by saving time and budget on job training.
